Online courses offer a variety of subjects to all students, taught by certified Michigan teachers. Students must be self-motivated and able to participate online. Assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects vary from class to class. Enrollment will be completed through application and final approval from the school's Administration. Once approved, all attendance and course progress are monitored and handled by the Instructional and Virtual Learning Coach or a designated Mentor.
Additionally:
• I understand that the mentor is not the teacher of record. The mentor’s role is to help troubleshoot issues, arrange for proctored tests and/or exams, report final grades to the registrar, and maintain attendance records as required by the State of Michigan.
• I understand students must have contact and communication with their mentor or teacher during the state pupil accounting window. The mentor will inform students of these dates.
• I understand that students need to be independent learners. They will need to follow the course pacing guide, read the course documents, utilize available resources throughout the course, and engage with their virtual instructor.
• I understand that even though I am an online student of Charlton Heston Academy, I am still required to be present and in seat at the school for all state testing.
• I understand that I may be unenrolled as an online student and required to be present at Charlton Heston Academy if I am not demonstrating successful results through the online platform.
