What is NHS

The Nation Honor Society is a student-based organization that's comprised of the brightest and provides opportunities past high school. Giving each student experience with communicating within their community through discussing school events and providing services.

The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Charlton Heston Academy.

How to be Apart of NHS


To be eligible, students must follow these guidelines:

Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be members of the sophomore, junior, or senior class.

Candidates must have been enrolled for a period equivalent to one semester at CHA.

Candidates eligible for selection to the chapter shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment, and GPA standards, candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, and character.

What We Do

Throughout the year, members of our chapter serve as role models for other students. In addition to the strong academic records which established the eligibility for membership, our chapter members are leaders in many student organizations and we serve our school and community through service projects such as fundraising, volunteering at the ARK, cleaning up Gaylord after the tornado, holding a school-wide food drive, helping with the community garden, with the blood drive, and other community activities.
