Rural Education Matters
REM held their monthly meeting on October 8th, 2010. Fundraising and community awareness activities will continue to move forward. It is evident that the communities mandate to re-open a school in St. Helen is strong following an outpouring of support for the fundraising effort to raise the funds for the organizations 501c3 fees. The goal was reached in a little over a week and many businesses and organizations contributed.
Coming up in November members of the organization will travel to Detroit for a 2 day training conference hosted by the Michigan Association of Public School Academies (MAPSA). The groups members look forward to meeting with other charter school administration, charter school vendors, and other interested parties that may continue to educate our local organizers.
To get involved with Rural Education Matters you can join them at their monthly meeting on the first Thursday at 7 pm at the Richfield Township Hall. You may also contact Jenni-fer Jarosz at (989) 632-1114 or visit their website at www.rem1234.com and send them an email.
